Collaboration for innovation across the health sector

Overview

To improve the sharing of innovation and quality improvement initiatives, we need to understand how this is currently supported and enabled within our health system.

There are many examples of improvement and innovation in areas such as patient safety, patients’ experience of care, and the experience of staff in delivering health care services.

However, there are limited ways for people working within the sector to find out how others have approached quality improvement and innovation and it can be hard to identify how data is being used to inform service design, what tools and resources are being developed, how best to measure outcomes, and how to share some of the experiences and challenges of innovation.

We need to:

  • know how people across the health sector currently interact with their colleagues, both within and across organisation and clinical boundaries,
  • understand what people want from improved collaboration and how they see this working,
  • identify which areas are of most interest and have potential benefit for improved collaboration.

We have created a short survey to help us identify these areas, which we will then explore in more detail.
