With a child with a dairy allergy it is important that she is prescribed medicines that do not contain dairy products. Every time she is prescribed something we have to ask the GP to look at the ingredient list first prior to prescribing. If often takes a further 5mins for the GP to check. It would also be helpful to have labelling of allergens for chemists to also be able to advise if the product will be safe. People with allergies should not be put at risk by not having informative labelling on products.
