Will these allergens also be required to be on the product? Often packaging is discarded so it would make sense to require allergen statements also on product label? And is Makeup/cosmetics covered under 'medicines' as they are topically applied?
For example: OPI currently have a nail polish (Nail Envy) that uses Wheat Protein to strengthen the setting product; currently they do label the packaging as containing Wheat Proteins (though not cautionary but more advertising it for benefit), but they do not label it on the product. Often with makeup in particular the packaging is discarded when it is opened; leaving no indication for possible allergen contact on the actual bottle of polish (I would imagine nail salons etc. would not necessarily check with clients where wheat sensitivity/allergy is an issue and the product is not likely to still be contained within the packaging).
