Consultation on proposed guidelines on pre-implantation genetic testing for cases involving specialist disagreement

Overview

ACART is currently consulting on proposed guidelines for pre-implantation genetic testing (PGT) for cases where specialists disagree.

PGT is a way of checking embryos created through in vitro fertilisation (IVF) for certain genetic or chromosome conditions (e.g. cystic fibrosis) before pregnancy begins.

The consultation is for a five-week period until 26 October 2026.
