Experiences with cervical screening
Overview
A Parliamentary Review Committee has been established to independently review the performance of the National Cervical Screening Programme and make recommendations to support its improvement.
One focus of this review is the recent shift to HPV testing as the primary method for cervical screening (this is the vaginal swab that people can choose to do themselves). The other type of test you can do is a cervical cell sample (known as a smear test).
If you have had any cervical screen in the last two years (either an HPV test or a smear test), we want to hear about your experience. This survey is an opportunity to share your thoughts, feelings, and feedback about the process – what worked well, what didn’t work well, and how it made you feel.
Your voice will help us understand how the National Cervical Screening Programme is working and where improvements could be made to better serve communities across Aotearoa New Zealand.
Our findings will be published in a final report.
