Proposal that the HART Order should explicitly state that the use of cryopreserved testicular tissue is an established procedure
Overview
The Advisory Committee on Assisted Reproductive Technology (ACART) is seeking your feedback about a proposed change to the Human Assisted Reproductive Technology Order. The Order would be amended to explicitly state that the extraction and use of sperm from thawed cryopreserved testicular tissue is an established procedure.
The consultation document has been developed by ACART. The document describes the proposal and rationale for amending the Order and outlines the key considerations involved. ACART seeks your views on the recommendations proposed in the document. This feedback will be used by ACART to develop advice to the Minister of Health. Any changes to the Order would need to be agreed by the Minister and made by Cabinet following parallel advice from the Ministry of Health.
The deadline for submissions has been extended until Friday 13 August.
